The Differences Between
Natural Vanilla Whey Protein &
LeanFit™ Balanced High Protein Whey

Dear Folks,
Now that we have launched our new Natural Chocolate Macaroon Flavour LeanFit™ Balanced High Protein Whey (LeanFit for short), I am being asked: “How is LeanFit
different from the R&L Natural Vanilla Flavour Whey Protein?” It’s an excellent question and i thank you for asking! Your question has prompted me to make the following list as a quick way for you to see the differences and the similarities between my two great-tasting whey protein shake powders. Please call or email me with your questions or comments.
I'd love to hear from you!

Richard Peirce

1. FLAVOUR
LeanFit: Our new LeanFit is a Natural Chocolate Macaroon flavour. This rich chocolate-coconut whey protein shake powder is made with real Dutch cocoa and is perfect for the crazed chocolate lovers of the world.
Whey Protein: Our Natural Vanilla Whey Protein powder is... you guessed it... Natural Vanilla. This is a great flavour base for making lots of delicious protein shakes.

2. SWEETENER
LeanFit: Sweetened with a minimal amount of pure crystalline fructose (low glycemic index); other naturally sweet and low glycemic index ingredients include:
• Stevia, a natural plant source powder recommended for diabetics
• NuTrim
, a natural oat beta glucan fibre that helps to reduce the overall glycemic index of LeanFit. The Food & Drug Administration (US) also permits a health claim for this ingredient for reducing low density lipids, the unhealthy form of cholesterol linked to heart disease.
Whey Protein: Sweetened with sucralose (Splenda), a non-nutritive sweetener made from sucrose. (Richard and I are encouraging Costco and our other retail customers to also list a completely unsweetened version of this product.)
(Note: the glycemic index is a measure of the extent to which a food raises the blood glucose level as compared to pure glucose).

3. WEIGHT PER CONTAINER
LeanFit: 1kg   Whey Protein: 1kg

4. SERVINGS PER CONTAINER
LeanFit: 30   Whey Protein: 50

5. SERVING SIZE
LeanFit: 33 grams   Whey Protein: 20 grams

6. CALORIES PER SERVING
LeanFit: 126 calories   Whey Protein: 75 calories

7. MACRO NUTRIENTS (PROTEIN, CARBS, FAT) PER SERVING
LeanFit:
Protein: 21 grams
Carbohydrates: 6 grams
Fat: 2 grams
  Whey Protein:
Protein: 16 grams
Carbohydrates: 1 gram
Fat: Less than 1 gram

8. MACRO NUTRIENT RATIO (Percentage of calories per macro nutrient)
LeanFit:
Protein: 66% of calories are from protein
Carbohydrates: 19% of calories are from carbohydrate
Fat: 14% of calories are from fat
  Whey Protein:
Protein: 85% of calories are from protein
Carbohydrates: 5% of calories are from carbohydrate
Fat: 6% of calories are from fat

NOTE: HERE’S A SIMPLE, STEP-BY-STEP FORMULA YOU CAN USE TO CALCULATE THE PERCENTAGE OF CALORIES FROM PROTEIN, CARBOHYDRATE AND FAT IN EVERYTHING YOU EAT…

Before you start to calculate, you need to know:
• Each gram of protein has 4 calories
• Each gram of carbohydrate has 4 calories
• Each gram of fat has 9 calories

Now, here’s the step-by step formula for calculating the percentage of calories from:
1. Multiple the number of grams of protein by 4 calories.
2. Divide the number you get from step #1 by the total number of calories per serving.
3. Multiple the number you get from step #2 by 100.
4. The number you get in step #3 is the percentage of calories from protein.
5. Repeat steps #1-3. The number you get in step #3 is the percentage of calories from carbohydrate.
6. Repeat steps # 1-3 (but this time multiply by 9 in step #1 because each gram of fat has by 9 calories). The number you get in step #3 is the percentage of calories from fat.
